TSC Child Care, Inc. is a non-profit child care program, established in 1987 to provide quality care for the children of employees at the Volpe Center and families in the surrounding community. TSC Child Care, Inc. is located in the Volpe Center’s in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The center is currently licensed for 56 children and they provide care for Infants, Toddlers, and Preschool children.
As of August 31, 2006 TSC Child Care became accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This nationally recognized certification distinguishes TSC Child Care as a center of excellence in high quality care. The center is also Licensed by the DEEC (Department of Early Education and Care).
The TSC Child Care, Inc. (the Center) is committed to creating and sustaining a nurturing home-like environment for children and parents. Teachers encourage cooperation, respect, and individuality.
A desire for learning through age appropriate curriculum provides children with a variety of rich opportunities for growth in social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.
The Center encourages parent involvement through a variety of classroom opportunities, newsletters, family events and suggestions, and supporting working parents by offering consistent high-quality childcare.
The philosophy at TSC Child Care can be stated simply, “Children Learn Through Play.” Creative play provides children with opportunities to build their self-esteem, learn to solve problems effectively, and take pride in their achievements. Internalizing these lessons in the early years will positively affect children’s future confidence and development. Whether it’s through constructing a bridge, acting out a story, or simply playing pretend games, it is critical that children learn to stimulate their imaginations in a safe, educational environment.
The Center is a special place for both children and their families. We work to support each child’s self-confidence and growth of their cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development within a safe, secure and appropriately stimulating environment. The Center respects each child's unique and special way in which they grow and develop.
Involving families is an integral part of promoting each child's growth. At TSC Child Care we stress open communication with parents and staff, thus bridging the gap between home and school.

What does it mean to be a parent run center?
One of the greatest strengths of TSC Child Care, Inc. is that it is a parent-run organization. This gives all of us, as parents, the chance to make a positive impact on the care and education that our children receive on a daily basis. This opportunity is not without cost, though, and the successful operation of the Center is dependent on parent participation. There are many ways to make a contribution to the Center, both formally and informally. Whether you act as a board member, committee member, or room parent, or provide materials for a special class project, you will be helping to make a difference at TSC Child Care, Inc. Volunteering to serve the Center is a wonderful opportunity to get to know the teachers, staff and other parents and is the best way to make sure your voice is heard.
